Buyer beware! This company has unethical and fraudulent billing practices. I have never been a member and never signed up, yet somehow they got my information and have billed me monthly for a year. I've brought this to their attention time and time again and have been lied to, shined on, ignored and defrauded! The matter has been brought to the attention of both the local manager and their corporate office to no avail. If they can continue to charge me when I NEVER signed up even after they had been made aware of the problem and promised to fix it, imagine what they can do to those who did sign up.
I've been a member for ....maybe 1 year now. I dont really remember what month last year that I enrolled. My old gym, ( Firstenberg center) raised their membership rates one too many times Just too rich for my blood in this economy. And although I do miss having an indoor track, Planet Fitness more than makes up for that loss by offering tanning, 24 hour access, and seemingly more parking than Firstenberg. All that at 1/3rd the cost! Now if only the city of Vancouver would build a library next door....
Fix your gym always something broken pathetic
I have been a member of PF for about three days and in those three days I have decided to go back to 24hr Fitness.....and thats saying a lot. I must admit its a much nicer place than 24hr however lack of basic equipment like core/workout balls, scales, and whatnot seem to be leading me to wanting to go somewhere that has proper equipment. But what pushed me over the edge was that they claim no other PFs have these items (which is not true) and that the manager, Phyllis, seems to be the most shifty person in the world. I have tried numerous times to get in touch with her and she always seems to not be there. Oddly enough, one of their employees slipped up and I found out she was there just didn't want to deal with a member apparently. All I really wanted was to express my comments and then either cancel or see if they planned to get these items. Now I just want to cancel and get my money back. You know for a gym that sponsors The Biggest Loser, they dont have the stuff that is on that show that helps these people get in shape.....odd I think. If you want plain, bare bones gym and dont mind staff that are shifty then this is a five star place. But if free tanning (um, fake n bake is very lunkish btw) and coin operated massage chairs aren't enough find someplace else.
The staff and the manager of this location are very friendly and helpful and the facility is ok, the membership fees are low the major downside of tihs company is the member agreement sucks and cancelling your membership is way too much of a hassle.
